Frequently asked questions
It's cold out. Can I still order?
Yes! I ship year round. In order to pack plants safely in cold weather, orders placed between November 15th and April 15th will have an additional $2.75 handling charge. This helps covers the extra packing materials, including heat packs, and labor required to safely ship orchids during the winter months.
If you are nervous about shipping or if my area will be experiencing extreme weather, I will hold shipments. If it's a hold on my end, I will email you with an updated ship date. If you want the plant(s) held, simply contact me during or immediately after you order and I will hold them until you contact me.*
*Orders will not be held for more than 30 days unless other arrangements have been agreed upon.
What if the plants get damaged or sick in transit?
We guarantee the health of all our plants when they leave our facility. Should you receive an unhealthy or infested plant, please contact us within 10 hours of delivery* for damage claims and within 7 days for all other claims. You must provide clear photos and a description of the problem. We will work with you to resolve any issues.
*Cold damage claims on shipments without signature tracking must be submitted within 2 hours of delivery. We cannot guarantee plants that have been left outside in the elements for extended periods of time and no refunds or replacements will be provided if you did not request Hold for Pickup, Signature Tracking and your plants were delivered to location where they will be left outside.
What is a plant has a damaged spike, buds or blooms?
If a plant was advertised as in spike at the time of purchase and arrives with a broken flower spike then I will offer 10% off the purchase price of the plant. In order to receive a damage refund, photographs of the break and the packaging must be provided. Although rare, if it is apparent the spike was broken due to rough handling during unpacking, no refund will be supplied. Please unpack all plants with care!
Bud blast, flower wilting and damage and spike abortion are all possibilities when shipping orchids through the mail. I can't guarantee that this will not happen as shipping is stressful and stressed plants sometimes decide to conserve energy and thus stop their blooming cycle.
Refusal of plants at time of delivery
Refusing a plant at delivery can put the plant at risk of damage or death. If you refuse a plant then you take responsibility for damages upon return. The value of a plant upon return to LWO will be assessed by LWO and applicable retfunds, if any, will be applied. There is a minimum 15% restocking fee on all plants that are refused. Upon refusing a plant, the buyer automatically forfeits all associated shipping costs.
When will my order ship?
Shipping will take place on Monday and Tuesday only.
For a Monday shipment, you must place your order by no later than midnight on Friday, EST. For Tuesday shipments, your order must be placed by no later than 8am Monday morning, EST. If I can, I will squeeze orders placed after the deadline into an earlier time slot but I can't guarantee it will happen.
